Auto M/S Gain Rider

Have you ever noticed how a static stereo width knob just does not cut it for highly dynamic music? When you are working on a dense film score or a sweeping orchestral arrangement, the energy is constantly shifting.

A width setting that sounds huge and beautiful during a loud, massive section might make a quiet, intimate passage sound completely washed out and unnatural. That is exactly why the Auto M/S Gain Rider was born. It is built natively for REAPER to solve this exact headache without you having to draw endless automation lanes.

Control your side channel

Instead of just blindly multiplying the width and hoping for the best, this plugin actually listens to your track. It constantly compares the center of your mix to the edges. You simply tell it how loud you want those edges to be compared to the center, and the plugin rides the fader for you in real time.

If the stereo image suddenly gets too wide and messy, it gently pulls the sides down. If the mix collapses and gets too quiet on the edges, it pushes them back up to your target. It feels less like a traditional audio effect and much more like having a dedicated assistant sitting next to you, adjusting the side channel perfectly in sync with the music.

Smooth and musical results

The best part is that it stays completely out of the way. It does not get tricked by sudden, short spikes in the audio, so you do not have to worry about weird pumping effects. You can dial in the reaction times to make the movements incredibly smooth, ensuring that the stereo field breathes naturally with your track. It just locks your stereo image in place, keeping it consistently wide and focused from start to finish.
