FILM BRASS

Check my latest Decent Sampler creation, an epic Film Brass library. This time, we are bringing that massive Hollywood brass sound straight into your DAW.

The collection is broken down into four powerful sections: Low Braam, Trombones, Horns, and Trumpets. Every single instrument includes both sustain and staccato articulations, and you can easily jump between them using either your keyboard’s keyswitches or the handy dropdown menu right on the user interface.

This brass library is built to deliver a huge, cinematic wall of sound. It manages to be incredibly punchy and assertive, cutting right through your mix with ease, yet it never loses its musicality. There is a deeply three-dimensional quality at play here, blending a warm, breathing human feel with absolute technical precision. You will also notice a silky brilliance in the tone, where the brass retains a beautifully smooth texture but still offers a really crisp, clear high end.

On the technical side, I have packed each patch with plenty of velocity-sensitive round robins, while the dynamic velocity layers are mapped directly to your CC1 modwheel for expressive swells and fades. The custom GUI gives you a ton of sound-shaping control, featuring high and low cut filters, ten unique impulse response reverbs, a delay that syncs to your project tempo, attack and release knobs, and smooth legato glides. All of this comes in pristine 24-bit, 44.1 kHz resolution.

CC1 and CC11

A massive thanks to Versilian Studios for capturing the original source material, which was then heavily processed, fine-tuned, and programmed by Overstratum Audio. To get you writing immediately, CC1 for dynamics and CC11 for expression are pre-assigned and ready to go. Best of all, the four brass sections are meticulously volume-balanced against one another, so the entire ensemble is completely mix-ready the second you open it. Have fun writing some massive scores!
